This is the first board picture I have been able to locate taken when I was President in 2000. I had a wonderful team and it was hard work, but very rewarding.

​One of my favorite memories is related to the decision whether SCMR should become a CMR/CT society of stay with CMR only. We had long discussions in the board with a clear majority towards remaining an CMR society. We finally decided, that the membership should have a vote. The interesting part was the Europeans in the board felt that we should listen to the membership and then make a decision whereas the US members of the board felt that we should let the membership decide and then do what they told us. The membership voted with a strong majority to remain a pure CMR society.
To the left is the first issue of JCMR published in 1999.
Gerry Pohost was the first editor and I have been the second. The impact factor has risen to 5.75 which is fabulous for a specialty journal. It was a huge effort by Gerry to get the journal off the ground, and I have been fortunate to have taken it to new heights during the last 10 years.
